How MSAR® is produced

Oil residues are taken directly from refinery rundown lines and cooled, if necessary, to achieve the required viscosity (~350-500 cSt @ 100-200°C typically) for the colloid mill.

Hot residue & MSAR® buffer tanks on a recent project

Water, which can be derived from several utility waste-water sources, together with proprietary additives are added to the residue in a high-speed colloid mill under pressure.

The mixture is processed in the mill and cooled to provide a highly stable, synthetic oil-in-water fuel oil equivalent (~200cSt at 50°C) that can be run down to existing fuel oil tanks.

Quadrise provides extensive Operational and Quality Control support covering all aspects from feed supply, through production, storage, distribution and end-use. An extensive Quality Control Plan is developed in conjunction with all stakeholders, which is supported by an on-site Quadrise Laboratory & QRF.
