Chairman
- Ian Williams spent over 27 years with the Royal
Dutch/Shell Group in various capacities including as Managing
Director and Deputy Chairman of Shell South Africa, Vice President
(Downstream) of Shell Philippines and most recently as Head
of Strategy & Consulting (Downstream) at Shell International
Petroleum Company in London. Ian also sits on the board of
Quadrise Canada Corp and is a member of the QFI Nominations
Committee

Business
Development Director - Jason Miles spent over twelve
years of his career developing emulsified fuel projects; initially
as a process engineer for BP and subsequently for Petroleos
de Venezuela SA, as Business Development Manager where he
implemented Orimulsion® contracts on a worldwide basis.
Prior to joining QFI in 2006 he spent two years as a Senior
Oil Consultant for OpenLink. Jason has an honours degree in
chemical engineering from Loughborough University and an Executive
MBA (with distinction) from the Cass Business School in London.
Jason is a chartered chemical engineer (MIChemE).

Finance
Director - Hemant Thanawala is a
Chartered Accountant with over 25 years professional and commercial
experience. Until 2001, Hemant served for 3 years as CFO of
Premier Telesports Group which was involved in the entertainment
sector in parts of Eastern Europe and the FSU. In this position,
he played a key role in two private placings and the listing
of the group on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Prior to that,
Hemant served for 8 years as the finance director of Rostel
Group, a multi-national manufacturer & distributor of
blue-chip branded consumer products. Before joining Rostel
Group, Hemant was involved in professional practice in the
UK, qualifying with KMG Thomson McLintock (now KPMG). |

Independent
Non Executive Director - Laurie Mutch is a management
consultant providing advice on governance, strategic planning,
business development and change management to multi-national
organisations. He has 25 years’ experience in the energy
industry with the Royal Dutch/Shell Group where he sat on
the Board of Shell International Gas & Power, as Executive
Director for business development in the Eastern Hemisphere.
From 1994 to 1996, he was the Finance Director in Shell International
Gas, and Principal Executive to the International Energy Agency's
Coal Industry Advisory Board (CIAB). Prior roles include senior
management positions in Shell's Coal and Chemical Divisions.
During his last two years of service he was Group Chief Information
Officer. Mr Mutch holds a BSc in Mathematics & Physics
and an MSc in Astrophysics. Mr Mutch sits on the Audit, Remuneration
and Nominations committees.

Independent
Non Executive Director - Michael Ian Duckels has degrees
in Chemistry, Chemical Physics and Computer Science and is also
a qualified accountant. He has extensive experience in the oil
and energy sectors in senior roles spanning refining technology
and plant management to global strategic planning and international
mergers and acquisitions. He also has extensive experience of
refinery management and joint ventures. His last post in BP
was as Chairman of the BP Texaco Joint Venture Refinery in Rotterdam.
On leaving BP in 1995, Dr Duckels set up a specialist oil trading
and refining training activity in association with the Petroleum
Economist and in 1998 joined Quadrise Limited serving as a director
until it was acquired by QFI in 2006. He has since acted as
a consultant to QFI.
Dr. Duckels sits on the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations
committees. |
